You can use this post to comment on any general discussion topics that came up at the meeting or that you didn't have a chance to discuss. If a specific idea or topic seems to merit it I will create a separate "thread" for that discussion by posting a newly titled post and will inform everyone of the intent.

Location Reminder for December Meetings
We will meet at 11:00 on December 16 and the next day at 4:00, both times upstairs at Christopher's, the restaurant right across the street from the Porter Square mall. There are meters along Mass Ave (free on Sunday) and resident parking (Porter Road usually has spots). There is also parking behind the building, entrance at the corner where the restaurant Passage to India is. Under no circumstances should you park in the mall! They will tow you.
Hope this will not be too inconvenient for you. In January and beyond, the meetings will be at the book store.

Blog Charter
Welcome Porter Square Book Club members and friends.
This blog is intended as an extension of the discussions that we have at our monthly meetings.
It is a place for Joan to share her initial notes on upcoming books as well as any additional items of interest she finds related to the books we are reading or scheduled to read.
It is also a place for members to follow up points of discussion we did not have time to delve fully into at the club. When we meet face to face I think we want to give as many people an opportunity to speak as possible this means we often touch on many different points of interest and do not go as deep on some points as some may want. This blog allows us to keep that gift of hearing everyone's voices at the meetings and still have a way to dive deeper into specific points of interest.
And a means for all of us to share items of interest related to the books as Joan does.
Finally, it can provide a handy way for Joan to pose questinons and solicite feedback from the members.
